BREAKING: Buhari Sacks Oshiomhole’s Led APC NWC, Appoints Gov Buni As Caretaker/Convention C’ttee Chair
President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the dissolution of Comrade Adams Oshiomhole-led National Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress thus putting an end to the supremacy tussle over who controls the soul of the current NWC of the party.
The President also approved the appointment of Governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni as the chairman, All Progressives Congress (APC)’s Caretaker Committee/Extraordinary National Convention.
The dissolution of the Oshiomhole-led NWC followed the party’s National Executive Council (NEC) meeting held at the villa on Thursday at the instance of President Buhari and convened by the court recognized acting national chairman of the party, Victor Giadom.
Present at the meeting were President Buhari, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo Goverrnors of Nasarawa , Niger , Jigawa, Pleateau , Imo, Kogi , Yobe , Gombe, Osun , Ogun, Lagos , Kwara, Kebbi, Kano and Ekiti are some of those present.
Also present are Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege; Deputy Speaker Idris Wase; House Leader, Hassan Dogowa and the Deputy Chief Whip, House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Nnenna Ukeje
Buhari’s new media aide, Bashir Ahmed, confirmed the dissolution in the tweet saying, “Following the recommendation of President Muhammadu Buhari, the National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been dissolved.”
“However, Governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni has just been appointed as the chairman, All Progressives Congress (APC)’s caretaker committee and extraordinary national convention”.
