BREAKING: 3 Symptomatic Coronavirus Cases In Delta Test Negative
Three symptomatic cases of coronavirus reported in Delta state has returned negative.
It was learnt that the three suspected cases had exhibited symptoms of the virus and placed on self-isolation.
BIGPEN understands that the blood samples of the patients transferred to Irrua Specialist Hospital in Edo, the only Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) test centre in the south-south geopolitical zone came out Tuesday night.
Confirming this development on Wednesday morning, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, disclosed that all the test result of the suspected cases came out negative.
The governor had earlier on Tuesday hinted of the cases of which he said he was expecting result during a state broadcast.
In a tweet on his verified twitter handle, Governor Okowa wrote; “a little while ago, I received the results of three patients in Delta State who exhibited symptoms of COVID-19 from the medical team at Irrua Specialist Training Hospital in Edo. I am pleased to report that the results came back negative.
“Despite tonight’s results, we remain on high alert and will continue to take all the necessary precautions to keep you all safe. I ask all the families and communities across our great state to continue to work with us by adhering to the measures that we have put in place.
“I also ask that you all continue to remain calm and disregard any #FakeNews. On our part, as we have been doing, we will continue to update you on key developments through our official channels.
“We will get through this together”, he enthused.
