Mobs Set Fire On PDP Secretariat, Attack Dickson’s, Diri’s Houses In Yenagoa

Rampaging mobs have reportedly set fire on the secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Yenagoa, the Bayelsa state capital.
The attack on the secretariat came few minutes after news of the declaration of senator Douye Diri as Governor-elect of Bayelsa filtered in.
The fire which was however put out by personnel of the state fire service, burnt part of the secretariat.
A bonfire threw at the secretariat was said to have gutted part of the building and that of the judiciary complex.
The invaders also descended on the property of the Bayelsa Radio complex where they also vandalised some equipment and torched vehicles parked at the premises.
Staffers of the both buildings fled their offices on sighting the surging invaders who also blocked the East-West Road especially the Kaiama axis in Kolokuma-Opokuma Local Government Area.
Also, properties suspected to be that of outgoing governor, Henry Seriake Dickson were also vandalised in Opolo by the mobs who had joined a protest march over the Supreme Court judgement which sacked David Lyon, APC governorship candidate who was earlier declared as governor-elect in the state.
The invaders suspected to be members of the APC in the state also destroyed cars, shattered windscreens, fittings in the family house of Douye Diri, the PDP governor-elect who is expected to be sworn in tonight.
