Senator James Manager, representing Delta South senatorial district has been kicked out of the red chamber by the Delta State National Assembly Election Petitions Tribunal sitting in Asaba, the state capital.

BIGPEN Online reports that Manager election was nullified on Saturday following a petition brought by his closest rival, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan, a former governor of oil rich Delta.

Uduaghan, candidate of the All Progressives Congress for that election, had approached the tribunal alleging that election in which Manager was declared winner was characterised by massive rigging and other electoral malpractices.

In a petition filed by his lawyer, Thompson Okpoko (SAN), Uduaghan prayed the tribunal that the February 23 National Assembly elections in the district should be cancel and order a fresh election.

In its judgement, the election tribunal after looking at all arguments, promptly cancelled the election and ordered for a fresh one within 90 days.
