Okowa Urges Okere-Urhobo People To Promote Virtues Of Late Monarch, Okumagba

Governor of Delta State, Senator  Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, has tasked the people of Okere-Urhobo Kingdom in Warri to imbibe and promote virtues their late monarch, HRM Prof Paul Oghenero Okumagba, Idama 11, the Orosuen of Okere-Urhobo Kingdom stood for, stressing that the late monarch was pivotal to the ongoing stronger Delta mission of the state government.

Okowa spoke, Saturday, during condolence visit to the people of Okere-Urhobo Kingdom over death of their monarch, HRM Prof. Paul Oghenero Okumagba at the palace! Governor Okowa was represented by his deputy, Deacon Kingsley Burutu Otuaro who led serving Commissioners including that on  Information, Mr Charles Aniaghwu, Oil and Gas, Chief Emmanuel Amgbaduba, among several other top government functionaries in the visit.

“Our departed monarch, HRM Prof Paul Oghenero Okumagba lived a life of dedication to God and service to the people. May we imbibe and promote the virtues of peaceful co-existence and love for humanity that he stood for, to the glory of Almighty God. He was pivotal to Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa’s ongoing stronger Delta mission”, Otuaro said.

“As a government, we received the news of the death of the Okere-Urhobo monarch with shock as he died when his wise counsel was most needed. We pray that the Almighty God gives the Okere-Urhobo people the fortitude to bear the great loss”.
Otuaro added: “Our hearts and prayers are with and for the people of Okere-Urhobo people in this moment of grief. The Delta State Government will be part of programme of activities to give the departed monarch a befitting burial”.

Responding on behalf of the people, the Regent of Okere-Urhobo Kingdom, Chief Emmanuel Omovie thanked the Sen. Dr. Okowa-led  Delta State Government for the condolence visit adding government would be informed of the burial date and arrangements.

The Regent assured: “The demise of the monarch, HRM Prof Paul Okumagba will not diminish the support of the Okere-Urhobo people for the Senator Okowa-led Delta State government”.
