The Force Criminal Investigations Department, FCID has reportedly arraigned Dr. George Uboh over allegations bordering on ‘false information’ levelled against him amidst his exposure of alleged $2.5 billion scandal at the Central Bank of Nigeria.

BIGPEN ONLINE couldn’t ascertained why it took the police that long to arraign him but one of his associates, George Davidson had earlier alleged plot to concoct trumped up charges to ‘silent him’ amidst his exposure of the CBN Governor, Godwin Emefiele.

It was gathered that Uboh was arraigned at the Upper Area Court Zuba in the Federal Capital Territory Abuja on Monday over alleged “false information” allegation arising from a petition written against him by one Mr. Ned.

BIGPEN ONLINE understands that his bail application has been adjourned to 23rd May 2019 for hearing.

Meanwhile, a Human Rights crusader from the Eagle Eyes Transparency International, Dr. George Davidson had earlier alleged that the DIG Anthony Mike, handling the case may have been compromised to keep Uboh behind bar longer than the law says.

Recall that operatives of the Force Criminal Investigations Department, FCID had arrested Uboh, Whistleblowers Network (GUWN) chairman after he blew whistle on the $2.5 billion allegedly ‘unaccounted for’ in the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

Report says detectives stormed Uboh Abuja residence which also served as his office and  searched it for documents after which he was whisked away on Wednesday afternoon.

BIGPEN ONLINE couldn’t independently verify this information but document shows his house was searched and his telecom appliances including computers and telephones taken away by security operatives.

The incident happened few days after Uboh had obtained a court order restraining senate from confirming Emefiele until he account for the said ‘missing’ money.
