Brave Woman Fights Off Armed Robber With Sand In Attempt To Rape Her

A young woman in Warri, Delta state bravely fought off an armed robber who robbed her family and attempted to rape her after he dragged her into a corner in her compound.

BIGPEN ONLINE gathered that the middle aged woman and her husband with their male child were inside their one room apartment in Ginuwa Road, Warri on Easter day when the armed robber suddenly shown up and threatened them with a gun.

After he dispossessed the couple of their little savings and valuable, the said armed robber reportedly dragged the young woman to the backyard of the compound and attempted to rape her.

The woman was said to have pleaded with the armed robber that she was under her menstrual period but he refused to left her go and commanded her to undress.

In apparent helplessness, the woman bravely while pretending to scratch an insect bite on her leg, packed a handful of dry sand and hurled it on his face.

While the armed robber was writhing in pain and struggling to gain his sight, the woman quickly took to her heels while screaming for help. Her child and husband had then escaped to a safe place in the neighbouring compound, our source disclosed.

Meanwhile, there was pandemonium in Igbudu market area of Warri on Wednesday April 24th, 2019 when two rivalry cult groups clashed over alleged killing of one of their member.

Sources said that members of a cult group in Igbudu market area allegedly in a reprisal attack caught one member of a Cemetery Road cult group reportedly responsible for the death and descended on him.

Eyewitness says the victim was stabbed severely until youths of Igbudu Unit 11 Community, vigilante men in the Igbudu market rescued him from their grip and was hospitalized.
