Two Armed Robbers Killed, One Escape After Stealing N15, 000 In Delta

Two suspected armed robbers who allegedly burgled a residential building and stole N15, 000 and phones have met their Waterloo in Okpara Inland, Ethiope East LGA of Delta State.

BIGPEN ONLINE gathered that two out of the three-man suspected robbery gang were gun down by vigilante group after robbing some residential houses in the locality and were fleeing.

It was learnt that the suspects believed to be members of ‘Spalie’ cult group that have been terrorizing the community, had burgled the residence of one Newborn Ohamuedo where they stole two phones and the sum of N15, 000 cash.

They were reportedly moving to burgle another residential apartment when the gang members were intercepted by the vigilante in the area and in an ensuing confrontation, two of the suspects were shot dead by the vigilantes at Erekpe street closed to the Glo mast while one escaped.

The fleeing suspect simply identified as Okpako who is currently being hunt for by the vigilante group is said to be the leader of the gang and cult group in the area.

Local sources told our correspondent that one locally made pistol, charms were recovered from the dead robbers after the incident which happened on 22nd April,2019, at about 02: 30am.

When contacted, State Commissioner of Police, Mr Adeyinka Adeleke said he was yet to be briefed and promised to revert back but he never did as at the time this report was filed.
