‘God will avenged for the blood of my innocent daughter whose life was cut down in her prime’, mother of the slain, Delta State University (DELSU), Abraka student, Miss Elozino Ogege murmured as suspected killers of her daughter pleaded not guilty to the 8 count charge levelled against them by the state Attorney-General.

BIGPEN ONLINE recalls that Elozino was murdered by suspected internet fraudsters popularly known as ‘Yahoo boys’ who dismembered vital part of her body including plucking off her eyes in a gruesome murder case that got the social media buzzing for month-long.

At the trial of the suspects, her mother bursted into an uncontrollable tears as the  suspects pleaded not guilty to the charges.

Efforts by the Director of Sexual Offences/Domestic Violence, Mrs. Uche Akamagwuna and other sympathizers to console her failed as she wept on and was heard murmuring; “God will avenged for the blood of my innocent daughter whose life was cut down in her prime”.

The accused persons who are the defendants in the case are: Macaulay Desmond Oghenemaro, Ojokojo Robinson Obajero, Nwosisi Benedict Uche and Enaike Onoriode.

Meanwhile, efforts by the defence counsel, S.C. Okehielem Esq to have the case transfer to Sapele Judicial Division failed as Omamuzo Erebe Esq., Director of Legal Drafting, who led other Lawyers from the state Ministry of Justice including the Director of Sexual Offences and Domestic Violence, urged the Court to dismiss the application that it was frivolous and inapplicable to the case.

Ruling on the application for transfer of the case to Sapele Judicial Division, the trial Judge, Justice Flora Ngozi Azinge, dismissed the application saying that it was unmeritorious and held that the case is before a proper venue to entertain the matter.

Justice Azinge further ruled that the High Court of Delta State is one and that the Administration of the Criminal Justice Law which governs Criminal matters in the State has empowers the Chief Judge to transfer any case from one criminal division to other.
