KOWA’s Party Candidate Hails INEC Over Conduct Of Previous Elections In Delta
Kowa Party Candidate for Delta Central Senatorial District Comrade Austin Onori, has commended the Resident Electoral Commissioner, INEC, Delta State, Dr Cyril Omorogbe for peaceful conduct of the Presidential and National Assembly election, held on Saturday February 23, 2019.
In a letter of commendation to the Resident Electoral Commissioner, dated March 1, 2019, Onori noted that, Delta Central once infamous for electoral violence was substantially brought under control largely by the strategies put in place by the leadership of the commission in Delta State.
The Kowa party Senatorial Candidate expressed his profound gratitude to the Commission for conducting free, fair and credible election in Delta State.
“The desire to show my appreciation on behalf of my teeming supporters is borne out of your ability to conduct a free, fair, credible and peaceful election in my Senatorial District.
“Delta Central is known to be a volatile area when it comes to electoral matters, but the Commission under your leadership has proved that election can be conducted peacefully , free, fair and credibly without bloodshed or violence.
“On this note, we highly appreciated your handwork and professionalism in electoral matters”, INEC Head of Department, Voter Education and Publicity, Bukola Ojeme quoted Onori as saying in a statement on Friday.
Dr Omorogbe, who resumed as Hon. REC in February is widely acknowledged across party lines for his high level discipline, professionalism and impartiality.
His comportment is believed by many to have contributed in large measure to the lowering of tension between political gladiators in the state, particularly during the collation of the results of the just concluded Presidential and National Assembly election held on February 23, 2019.
