Delta State Governor, Senator Dr Ifeanyi Okowa has said his administration’s interest in road construction was borne out of the desire to open up the state for investors.

The Governor disclosed this on Thursday at the commissioning ceremony of Emede Ring Road, Emede, Isoko South local government area of Delta State which was constructed by his administration.

According to the governor, “investors are very vital to the socio-economic development of our people; they will create job opportunities and contribute to the development of our state that is why we are constructing roads in all parts of the state, to make our communities accessible.”

The President-General of Emede Progress Union, Mr Okporokpo Ejumejowo had in an address delivered at the occasion, said, “Your Excellency, the award, completion and eventual commissioning of this road attest to the truth that you are a promise keeper who is committed to the even development of the state; you have proven to be a lover of Emede community with the construction of this road, the renovation of several public schools and the ongoing construction of the old Emede-Oleh road; the Emede people are very grateful and we want to assure you that the Emede people will thank you with their votes come March 9th with 100 per cent votes for you Sir.”
