Delta Former Commissioner Dumps PDP For APC

A former Delta State Commissioner, Chief Omeni Sobotie has dumped the People’s Democratic Party and joined the All Progressive Congress, APC.

BigPen Online learnt that Sobotie announced his defection after a closed door meeting with immediate past governor and Delta South senatorial district candidate, Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan on Wednesday.

Sobotie was among the founding fathers of the PDP in Delta State and Commissioner for Environment during the tenure of Chief James Ibori.

He became an ardent follower of Dr Uduaghan when he was governor of the state but later switched loyalty to incumbent Governor, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa when the governor assumed office.

Sobotie, until his defection was supporting Hon Evenly Oboro, member House of Representatives and PDP Delta Central senatorial candidate and was among those who accompanied her to solicit for support from Okowa for her senatorial race.
