Prominent Isoko Leader Asks Ogor To Withdraw From Reps Race To Take Care Of His Health

National vice president, South-South, of the Poultry Association of Nigeria (PAN), Hon. Enahoro Eta, has called on House of Representatives Minority leader, Hon. Leo Ogor to withdraw from the Isoko Federal Constituency race in order to take care of his health properly.

This is coming as several other prominent Isoko leaders had either openly or secretly also asked Leo Ogor to withdraw from the race, maintaining that he has done his best for the Isoko people for his 16 years legislative journey in the green chamber.

Eta, a Philanthropist and Chief Executive Officer of Skyward Resources Limited, made the call in a Facebook post on Monday, saying if Ogor’s main reason for contesting the house of representatives seat was to serve his people, 16 years was enough for him to have delivered dividends of democracy to the Isoko people.

He said Ogor by now ought to be enjoying life with his lovely family, having served for 16 years and apparently made money if the two aforementioned were his reasons for joining the race in 2003.

The prominent Isoko leader who is fondly known as “Permanent Excellency” following his philanthropic gesture in or out of politics, dubbed his position on Leo Ogor candidacy as “candid advice”.

The illustrious son of Oyede Kingdom wrote:  “Rt Hon Leo Ogor needs a well deserved rest, if his reason of going to the house of representatives is to serve Isoko people, 16 years is enough to have done so and if it is to make money am sure he is not a poor man by any standard. It is time for him to rest and enjoy life with his lovely family. This is my candid advice. To God be the glory”.

Recalls that Ogor was out of the country and legislative business in mid-October 2017 to a Switzerland hospital for partial paralysis in which he is gradually recuperating.

The lawmaker who is under the radar of the Economics and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC over his constituency projects contracts scam is currently embattled by his constituents who are calling for his withdrawal from the race following his failing health condition.

Ogor have been having speech impairment stemmed from the stroke and as a result he hardly make any coherent speech but whenever he talks he makes so many mistakes that have often embarrassed his followers and campaign members.

A recent remark he made where he tried to create a dichotomy between Isoko South and North local government areas over the federal constituency seat have been greeted with much condemnation and rejection of his candidature

BigPen Online reports that Ogor is to square up against a former Chairman of the Delta state Board of Internal Revenue, (DBIR) and immediate past coordinator Federal Inland Revenue Service incharge of Delta, Edo and Rivers states, Joel Onowakpo Thomas, an APC candidate for the constituency who is waxing stronger in the race.
