Delta: IPMAN Inaugurates New Exco, To Assist Security Agents On Curbing Oil Theft
The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN), Warri Depot has inaugurated its newly elected Executive Committee with a promise to support security agencies on the fight against crude oil theft in the country.
The inauguration of the new exco has put to rest the leadership crisis which had enveloped the body since last year.
Speaking shortly after the inauguration, the newly elected Chairman of IPMAN, Warri Depot, Mr Zino Onaemor said that his executive would work in synergy with security agencies in the country to win the war against oil theft.
Onaemor said that his executive would ensure that Pipelines and Product Marketing Company Limited, (PPMC) which has been unbundled into three different companies – a storage, pipelines and products marketing companies, gives its members their due in product allocation.
“We will support security agencies to win the war against oil theft. We all know the damage oil theft is causing to our economy as a country. Like every other responsible Nigerian we will support every move to win the war.
“The new IPMAN will also make sure that we get our due from PPMC. It will no longer be business as usual”, he said.
Mr. Onaemor however maintained that hoarding of petroleum product to create artificial scarcity would not happen under his watch as the new head of IPMAN in Warri Depot, promising that filling stations in the state would dispense product as they receive it.
He further assured that he would work with all members of the body to move IPMAN forward.
Speaking earlier, Chairman of the inauguration committee, Chief Benjamin Odjugo enjoined the new executives to ensure they resolve all challenges facing the body, urging the new exco carry all members along in the scheme of things.
