UPDATED: BREAKING! Governor Okowa Reshuffles Cabinet, Sacks Two Commissioners

Finally, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa has reshuffled his cabinet.

The two Commissioners, Health, Mr Nicholas Azinge as well as his Art and Culture counterpart, Mr. Daniel Okenyi were sacked.

BigPen Online learnt four Commissioners were however redeployed.

The commissioners who were swapped include, Hon Asupa Forteta – Ministry of Urban Renewal, (formerly Youth), Chief Karo Ilolo – Directorate of Youth Development, (formerly Urban Renewal), Hon. Bright Edejewhro – Ministry of Science and Technology (formerly LGAs) and Hon. Joyce Overah – Directorate of Local Government Affairs (formerly Science and Technology).

A statement by Secretary to the State Government, Hon. Festus Ovie Agas on Thursday said the governor has effected a minor re-shufflement of the membership of the State Executive Council which takes effect from today 8th February, 2018.

“In this regard, Dr. Nicholas Azinge and Chief Dan Okenyi are no longer members of the Executive Council”, the statement read.

The governor however thanked the two Commissioners who were dropped for their loyalty, commitment and sense of duty which marked their stewardship.

“In line with public service standards, they are to kindly handover all government properties in their possession to the Permanent Secretaries of their former Ministries as we wish them success in all their future
endeavours”.
