Female Kidnappers Steal 3 Yrs Old Child In Bayelsa

Two female kidnappers have reportedly kidnapped a three years old child whose mother sells orange directly at Azikoro junction of Ekeki community in Yenagoa metropolis, Bayelsa state.

The incident happened between 9 and 10pm on Thursdays in the ever busy junction. The whereabout of little innocent child is yet unknown as at the time of this report.

An eyewitness, a female trader who also sells at the junction, said the mother of the child was with the girl and her siblings when the two kidnappers came asking where they can buy skirt.

According to her, the woman showed the two ladies direction where they can buy the skirt but one of the abductors convinced her that she wouldn’t recognize the particular store she was referring to.

“One of the kidnappers pleaded with her to follow her while the other kidnapper stay with the children. She followed this strange woman just to help her and come back to her children and business without knowing it was a plan to carry out their evil plot.”

“When they got to the cloth shop, the strange woman did not buy any skirt while the mother of the child left her at the shop and came back to the junction where she is selling.

Getting to her spot, she didn’t see her little child and the other woman that stayed back to wait for her friend and when she asked her other children, they told her that somebody crossed the road with their sister.

She looked around the whole vicinity, there was no traces of them and by the time she went back to the cloth shop to look for the other woman, she was no where to be found either.”

Meanwhile, Mrs. Marie Ebikake, the former Commissioner for Transport in Bayelsa abducted along with a soldier in separate incidents by gunmen in Bayelsa on Sunday has regained freedom.

While the whereabout of the soldier is yet unknown, Ebikake was releases by her abductors at about 3 am on Friday.

Confirming the release of the former Commissioner, the Bayelsa Police Spokesman, Asinim Butswat, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, said that he did not have details on the terms on how she regained her freedom.

“I can confirm that the former Commissioner has been freed and reunited with her family but I do not have the details,” Butswat said.

Ebikake was kidnapped at her residence in Igbogene area of Yenagoa Local Government Area of the state.

The soldier was abducted by suspected sea pirates between the waterway of Foropa and Azuzuama area of Southern Ijaw Local Government Area.

The soldier, identified simply as Rotimi, was on board a passenger boat on to Yenagoa while the boat driver was shot on the shoulder.
