Omolubi, a strong grassroot mobilizer who left the APC, immediately after the governorship election that brought in Senator Okowa, as governor, had cited non inclusiveness as his reasons for leaving PDP.

Though the reason for the return to PDP is yet unknown, sources said the former President of the Itsekiri National Youth Congress, decided to return after a closed door meetings with Governor Ifeanyi Okowa last week.

The return of Omolubi, on the eve of the local government election in the state is seen as a big relief and a welcome development to his supporters in the state.

His comeback is coming barely few weeks after another stalwart of the APC, in Sapele local government area of the state returns to the PDP.

Defection of both political heavyweights is believed to be a setback for the APC in the state considering their mobilizing strength in Warri North and Sapele LGAs.

Speaking on the return of Omolubi back to the party fold, the member representing Warri, at the Federal House of Representatives, Daniel Reyenieju, said his comeback will add more value to the  party in the state.

He said the party is very happy that a grassroot mobilized like Chief Omolubi is coming back to the family.

He said, “He is one of the leaders and founders of the PDP in this local government. That he left us was of a great pain, we missed his mobilizing prowess and organising abilities. Now that he is back, we are going to to take a new turn as far as mobilization is concern.

It portends a great benefit to the PDP family in Delta State and the itsekiri nation in particular”
