PDP Set For Council Polls As Fmr Delta ALGON Chairman Round Up Campaign Rally
Former All Local Government of Nigeria chairman in Delta State, Sir. Constantine Itiako Ikpokpo, popularly known as Malik has said that the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is set for the January 6, 2018 local government elections in Delta State.
Ikpokpo stated this in a terse message over the weekend, after rounding up his ward-to -ward campaigns in Isoko South Local governments area.
“We have done what is needed of us to do, that’s campaigning to our people and telling them of our programmes and how we are going to better their lots in the next dispensation if we are reelected.
“And I’m assuring everyone in Isoko South that more better days are coming. The people are happy about us for what we have done and what we intend doing in our next coming. They have told us the areas we should improve on and are sure of victory to consolidate on our programmes and project.
According to him, it was a joyous campaign rally, “everywhere we went it was celebrations for us, and we appealing to our people to translate this overwhelming reception given to us during the campaigns to return all PDP candidates come 2018.
According to him, his campaign train went round Oleh, Irri, Uro, Aviara, Olomoro, Emede, Igbide, Umeh, Enwhe, Okpolo and Uzere wards, saying that local government councils election is all about the grassroots and “we at PDP don’t joke with our people at the grassroots”.
He said that his campaign train also visited traditional rulers in his council area to seek their royal blessings and fresh mandate as well as knowing their pulse with the view to make improvements in the council when reelected.
