Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has raised doubts over his intention to contest the 2019 presidential elections with the former vice president declaring that he has not decided to run for president.

Speaking with the VOA Hausa on Tuesday, he said that Nigeria and the world will know when he eventually takes the bold move.

“For now I have not made up my mind, when I decide, I will let the world know”.  Alhaji Atiku Abubakar said. This statement is bound to dampen the mood of his teeming supporters, many of whom are enthusiastic to see him run for president.

This past month has seen Alhaji Atiku Abubakar leave the ruling party All Progressives Congress to the Peoples Democratic Party and accused President Buhari of fanning the embers of ethnic and tribal divisions in the country.

Mr Ibe however has said that Alhaji Abubakar will continue sparring with the present administration ahead of his formal announcement. “What has been happening in recent weeks is sparring. We expect this to continue but it is not the same as a formal declaration of a presidential run”. Mr. Ibe said
