Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State has signed the N308.9billion appropriation bill into law.
The governor performed the exercise at Government House Asaba, the state capital after which he went into an interactive session with newsmen.
Okowa was flanked by the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, his Deputy, Rt. Hon. Friday Osanebi Ossai, Clerk of the House, Mrs Lyna Ochukor, and other principal officers of the House while he signed the budget into law.
BigPen Online recalls that the budget was presented on the 18, October 2017, and passed by the House on the 30th, November, 2017.
The 2016 budget which was passed and signed into law in similar manner has been dugged by controversy after All Progressives Congress (APC) chieftain, Dr Cairo Ojougboh raised allegations of blank budget in the state which has since been dismissed and debunked by the state government.
