APC In Trouble As Mass Defections Looms Following Atiku’s Exit

The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) could be facing a huge crises as key party members are set to leave the party.
This is coming even as one of the party’s foremost chieftains and former Vice President , Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has left the party and is believed to be heading to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
It was gathered that these key party members are no fewer than seven state Governors, serving ministers, several lawmakers in both houses as well as others holding key positions in the government and the parties have concluded plans to dump the party and follow the former Vice President.
It was gathered that the exit of Atiku on Friday morning after months of speculations has sent fear into the various camps and groups in the party which is likely to adversely affect the party ahead of the 2019 general elections.
According to a source inside the party, he said, “We are not comfortable with the sudden exit of Atiku Abubakar because definitely his exit will shake our Party because he has his followers he brought while coming into the Party and within the time he stayed he actually made more followers.
“We only pray that the Party will be able to manage his exit so that this would not have bandwagon effect on the Party now that the Party is yet to hold its National convention and 2019 General elections are fast approaching.
