Alhaji Mujahid Dokubo-Asari, has debunked alleged report in the CNN Network linking him to threat by militants group to renewed hostilities in the Niger Delta region.

Dokubo-Asari’s spokesman, Activist Rex Ekiugbo Anighoro, in a statement obtained by BigPen Online on Monday, said that the report credited to the CNN was ochastrated by agents of the Buhari-led administration who are finding every means to robe him in.

According to Anighoro, Dukubo-Asari have no reason to go into any negotiation with the federal government, therefore it was baseless to say he opted out of ongoing peace efforts in the Niger Delta.

The statement read in full: “The attention of the leadership of the Niger Delta People Salvation Front (NDPSF) has been drawn to a news item on CNN Network alleging that Alhaji Mujahid Dokubo-Asari and the Niger Delta People Salvation Front and two other groups have opted out of ongoing peace efforts in the Niger Delta and that it was going to begin and lead attacks on oil installations in the Niger Delta Region.

“May we state very clearly that the Niger Delta People Salvation Front is in the first place not part of any peace negotiations with the Federal Government or anyone as there was no need to do so.

“We at the Niger Delta People Salvation Front therefore are not deceived by the antics of agents of the Nigerian State who are desperately seeking ways to tie Alhaji Mujahid Dokubo Asari to agitations in the region that he and the Niger Delta People Salvation Front are unaware of not part of at this time.

“We make bold to state that we are not part of any meeting, processes by the Buhari led Government in the region, we are also not part of any plan of renewed hostilities in the Niger Delta Region.

“We therefore call on agents of Mr. Buhari to desist from linking Alhaji Mujahid Dokino Asari to any insurgency.

“We consider this infantile propaganda as a ploy to get Alhaji linked with renewed hostilities as a means of ordering for his arrest.

“This ploy will fail.

“Once again, we state we are not in any way engaged with this government and Alhaji Mujahid Dokubo Asari and the Niger Delta People Salvation Front are not part of renewed hostilities in the region”.
