Delta Attorney-General Describes Late Justice Ohwo As Upright, Brilliant Judge, Visits Family

The Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Delta State, Mr. Peter Mrakpor has described late Justice Franklin Ohwo as an upright, courageous and brilliant judge.

Mrakpor stated this at Ughelli when he led Management Staff of the Ministry of Justice on a condolence visit to the home of the late High Court Judge, Public Relations Officer of the Minister of Justice, Mr. Ivori Aruoriwo said in a statement.

The family members of the late Honourable Justice Franklin Ohwo who died in active service have been admonished to be strong, courageous and not despair but rather take consolation in the fact that he lived a good and worthy life, the statement said.

The Attorney-General maintained that the late Justice Ohwo was an upright, courageous, hardworking and brilliant Judge whose presence will be greatly missed.

Mrakpor who described the death of Justice Franklin Ohwo as painful, said he died at a crucial time when his wealth of experience was needed most by the judiciary as according to the Justice Commissioner, Justice Ohwo whom he said was a rare gem and an epitome of integrity made certain contributions in some areas of the Administration of the Criminal Justice Law which was recently passed into law by the Delta State House of Assembly and assented to by Governor Ifeanyi Okowa.

While saying that death was an inevitable end of man, Barr. Mrakpor who was accompanied by the Acting Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mr. Ben Odigwe, Directors, some Zonal Heads and staff, charged members of the family to emulate the worthy and exemplary life of the deceased.

He said the late Justice Franklin Ohwo will be mostly remembered in the Ministry of Justice for his hard work and integrity where he once served as a Director of Public Prosecutions

The Justice Commissioner while extending his heart-felt condolences to the the State Judiciary and the Nigerian Bar Association, prayed God to grant the family of the deceased the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

Earlier, the Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association, Warri Branch Kingsley Ebowei Esq. while receiving the Attorney-General, said the demise of Justice Franklin Ohwo was one loss too painful for the Ministry of Justice, the Bar and the Judiciary to bear.

Similarly, the only surviving younger brother of the deceased, Martins Ohwo Esq. and the sister, Tina Ohwo were unanimous in their separate remarks that the visit of the Justice Commissioner lifted their spirits even as they described the late jurist as fearless, trustworthy and reliable.
