Human rights group, Foundation for Human Rights and AntiCorruption Crusade, FHRACC, has described the failure of the Federal Government to arrest Northern Youths over anti-Igbo quit notice is cowardice.

The group in a statement by its National President, Alaowei Cleric said that reasons advanced by the government was disappointing.

“The reason cannot hold water if the AGF failed to appreciate the fact that the Federal Government is stronger than any individual or group of persons in Nigeria.

“Niger Delta people viewed the excuse of the Government which hitherto threatened to deal with hate speech perpetrators as a deliberate move to protect the northern coalition.

“We can now believed that in this Country, some persons are above are the law. When Nigerian government become a toothless bulldog to its citizenry?

“Does it mean that these groups of delinquents can even wage war against the federation and Nigeria will fold it’s arms because they are powerful?

According to the group, the supposed flimsy excuse has exposed the government to the fact that only southerners are always their target of unwarranted offensive.

It queries; Is it not this same Government that hurriedly filed action in court to rearrest Nnamdi Kanu for allegedly breaching his bail conditions?

“Is it not the same Government that is witch hunting the peace-loving Government Ekpemupolo even without committing any crime?

“Is it not this Government that has being invading Gbaramatu Kingdom at will for no justifiable reason?

“Is it not this same Government that kidnapped Ijaw human rights activists and other prominent stakeholders in the Niger Delta struggle such as Com. Daniel Ezekiel, Bonny Gawei and many others without being tried for any known offense and their whereabouts not known to anybody?

The group also queried why there is no security risk when it comes to southern Nigerian saying that a tsunami of insecurity may consume Nigeria unless the Government answers the call of our Constitution accordingly.

“We therefore call on the Federal Government to respond to its sacred constitutional responsibility. The Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria sees all Nigerians as equal before the law. Nobody should be treated as the sacred cows if the Government want to keep Nigerians united.

“We use this medium to also call on the Government to immediately release all the Ijaw prisoners of conscience in its custodies. There is no justification for the Government to keep Niger Deltans incarcerated in its custodies without being tried for any known offense, while some law breakers are given Royal treatment”
