Dr. Bukola Saraki, Senate President; Aminu Tambuwal, governor of Sokoto; Samuel Ortom, governor of Benue; and Abdulfatah Ahmed, governor of Kwara; met with some leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party in Ilorin on Wednesday. Number three citizen of Nigeria and the governors were elected on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). Meanwhile, they pulled out of the PDP to form nPDP in the buildup to the 2015 election and teamed with APC to take power from the party which ruled Nigeria for 16 years. Prince Uche Secondus, chairman of the PDP, Nyesom Wike, governor of Rivers state, Kawu Baraje, leader of the nPDP, also attended the meeting which held after the burial of Baraje’s mother.   Abuja Federal High Court has ordered Atai Aidoko, senator representing Kogi east senatorial district, to vacate the National Assembly. Gabriel Kolawole, the presiding judge, ruled that Aidoko’s emergence as the flagbearer of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was illegal during its sitting on Wednesday. The judge declared that he was wrongly presented as the party’s candidate during the December 2014 PDP primary election. This judgement comes after application filled by Isaac Alfa, another contestant, seeking the nullification of the senator’s election.   The Aniocha North Local Government Area chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has sacked its chairman, Prince Victor Egbune few days after he led the passage of vote of confidence on Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and few others. Egbune who was slammed with a vote of no confidence, was sacked over alleged misconduct, incompetence, misappropriation of party funds, fictionalisation of the party, among other alleged offences. BigPen Online learnt that 10 out of 14 members of the LGA Executive Committee of the party voted for his sack.
