Number three citizen of Nigeria and the governors were elected on the platform of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC). Meanwhile, they pulled out of the PDP to form nPDP in the buildup to the 2015 election and teamed with APC to take power from the party which ruled Nigeria for 16 years. Abuja Federal High Court has ordered Atai Aidoko, senator representing Kogi east senatorial district, to vacate the National Assembly. Gabriel Kolawole, the presiding judge, ruled that Aidoko’s emergence as the flagbearer of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was illegal during its sitting on Wednesday. The judge declared that he was wrongly presented as the party’s candidate during the December 2014 PDP primary election. This judgement comes after application filled by Isaac Alfa, another contestant, seeking the nullification of the senator’s election. Senator Ighoyota Amori, Political Adviser to National Chairman, Peoples Democratic Party, Prince Uche Secondus, has described the All Progressives Congress’ target to take over power in Delta State in 2019 as “unrealisable dream”.
