Foremost Ijaw youth group, the Ijaw Youth Council, has called on the military authorities to caution their men and release innocent persons arrested in connection with the alleged killing of a soldier in a boundary community between Delta and Bayelsa state. The Joint Task Force, codenamed Operation DELTA SAFE has discovered a local arms manufacturing hideout in Arhavwarien Kingdom of Ughelli South in Delta State. JTF Commander, Rear Admiral Apochi Suleiman told newsmen on Monday that following the raid operation which took place weekend, three suspects were arrested after a shootout. He named the suspects as Messer Isiyaka Uchuko, Ese James and Elvis Phillips. Items recovered from them include; 13 Short barrel local made guns, 5 Double barrel local made guns, 10 x local made pistols, 3 x live cartridges, one empty catridge and 2 x Rounds of 7.62 millimeter special ammunition. (BigPen, Rotterdam) Troops of Operation DELTA SAFE (OPDS) on Tuesday ambushed a gang of sea robbers along KM-45 AWOBA Waterways in Rivers State.  During the ambush operation, four suspected sea robbers met their waterloo. Items recovered from them include; 2× AK-47 rifles, quantity 3× AK-47 magazines, quantity 22 ammunitions and one speed boat mounted with one 200 Horse-Power engine. Similarly, troops patrol along Bayelsa waterways acting on information, raided a sea pirates hideout along FORUPA-LOBIA waterways. However, sea pirates on sighting troops advance fled the hideout, and left behind 3× fiber boats and one 75 Horse-Power engine.
