  As part of efforts to promote the Made in Aba brand, 30 out of the 100 Aba-based shoemakers are set to leave for China for further training in shoe making and automation. The China training project was in tandem with Governor Okezie Ikpeazu-led administration's effort to industrialized Abia state and in promotion of made in Aba products. Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Mr. Enyinnaya Appolos in a terse message on Thursday said that before they (shoemakers) leave, some pastors have been invited to pray for them, for God to protect and guide them during their 30 days stay in China for the training. Governor Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia State has approved the relaxation of the curfew imposed on Aba, the commercial nerve centre of the state. The relaxation followed the decision of the Abia State Security Council meeting held today, 18/09/2017, to assess the security situation in the state. A statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the State Governor, Mr Enyinnaya Appolos said the relaxation takes effect between 10pm to 6am daily from today (Monday), till further notice. For the second time, Abia State Governor, Okezie Ikpeazu announced the extension of the curfew imposed on Aba, the commercial nerve centre of the state. The curfew which initially was to last till Thursday (yesterday) before it was extended till Friday (today) has now being extended till Sunday, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Enyinnaya Appolos, has said in a statement The Governor had first declared the curfew, followed the face-off between the Nigerian Army and the Indigenous People of Biafra, led by Nnamdi Kanu.
