DESOPADEC Queries Over 300 Staff Who Partake In Protest

  The management of Delta State Oil Producing Area Development Commission, (DESOPADEC) has issued query to over 300 staff of the establishment who partook in the two weeks along protest over non pay of allowance and other entitlement. BigPen Online learnt that the query letter which were signed by DESOPADEC's Executive Director, Administration and Finance, Bashorun Askia Ogieh were issued on Monday. The commission said the protest was illegal therefore the staff breach the condition of service and should explain why they partook in the disruption of the activities of the commission for two weeks. The Delta State oil Producing Area commission, (DESOPADEC) has been shut down indefinitely. The shut down followed unabated protest by junior staff of the commission for days. Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of DESOPADEC, Olorogun Williams Makinde in a memo issued on Thursday night and obtained by BigPen Online, said following the illegal declaration of strike and violent behaviour of junior staff, the commission is hereby close till further notice.
