Kidnapped DELSU Lecturer, Professor’s Son Regain Freedom

Dr Boniface Anyanwu, a senior lecturer of the Delta State University (DELSU), Abraka, kidnapped alongside a son of a professor has regain his freedom.

Anyanwu, alongside Mr Nnamdi Nwachukwu, son of Professor Augustine Nwachukwu who was also kidnapped were found by a local hunter after they were left go by their captors.

BigPen Online which had earlier reported the kidnap incident, gathered that the duo were sighted in chains at about 3:00 p.m Monday by a local hunter in a thick forest around Obiaruku.

The hunter was said to have raised the alarm and sought the help of members of the vigilance group in the area who eventually rescued the victims.

Recalled that Dr Anyanwu of the Department of Theatre Arts and Mr Nwachukwu were abducted at 2:00 a.m last Saturday and taken away in the booth of the former’s Toyota Camry car by the captors who carted away two laptops, phones, money and other valuables.

The captors later demanded N10 million ransom for each of the abductees but it was not clear if any money was paid before they were released.
