Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo announced the renaming at a funeral service for the deceased in Oko, Anambra state. The National Universities Commission (NUC), has approved the takeoff of academic activities at the Nigeria Maritime University, Okerenkoko, Delta state. The approval which has put to rest the controversy surrounding the renaming of the university community was disclosed on Thursday by the Vice Chancellor of the institution, Prof. (Mrs.) Ongoebi Etebu, in an interview with newsmen. According to her, NUC has given the institution the go-ahead to commence graduate degree programmes, and also to admit JAMB candidates.
