Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) detectives have quizzed a former Executive Secretary of the Universal Basic Education Commission (UBEC), Mallam Suleiman Dikko, for alleged N20billion fraud. The Nigeria Police Force has ordered all personnels of Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) to undergo a compulsory psychometric test, training and continue assessment of operatives deployed to SARS to determine their suitability. In series of tweets on the NPF twitter handle, the police force also ordered the prohibition of SARS operatives to act as body-body-guards, delving into land matters, personal disputes, debt collection and civil matters. The Minister of Science and Technology, Ogbonnaya Onu, was yesterday questioned over the implementation of N3.408 billion allocated to his ministry in the 2017 budget by the House of Representatives Committee on Science and Technology. Chairman of the House committee, Beni Lar said the explanation was necessary in view of the low achievements recorded in the sector. The Nigerian navy on Monday, December 18, decorated Navy captain Jamila Malafa with the rank of commodore. This rank is equivalent to a brigadier-General in the Army and with this rank she becomes a one-star general. Speaking at the navy headquarters in Abuja, Chief of Policy and Plans (COPP) Rear Admiral Henry Babalola said it was a thing of pride and that only few women have achieved such height. Rear Admiral Babalola while commending Malafa, said that her elevation would inspire other women in the armed forces since there is no limit to what they can achieve.
