People of Okerenkoko Community, in Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South West Local government area of Delta State, on Thursday commended Governor Ifeanyi Okowa and his Deputy, Barrister Kingsley Otuaro, who is incidentally from Okerenkoko community, over the road project in the community. The residents expressed joy as ROADWELL Contracting Limited, the firm handling the community’s road project has intensified efforts to complete the project in few weeks which is very important to Governor Okowa and Otuaro being their legacy project for the people of Okerenkoko community. Properties worth millions of naira has been razed down as massive fire outbreak has reportedly occurred at tipper garage along Cross and Stop road junction in Udu, near Warri,  Delta State. BigPen Online gathered that the fire started from a spot in the garage where petroleum products are heavily stored. Though details of the incident was still sketchy as at press time, a source disclosed that fire started from an area in the park where some dubious elements trade on illegal diesel. There was no fire service personnel on ground as at when the news filtered in and was filed for publication late Tuesday night.

Former Delta State governor, Chief James Onanefe Ibori has declared that the crisis rocking Urhobo apex socio-cultural organisation, Urhobo Progress Union (UPU) was an error that needed to be corrected immediately. Ibori stated this on Friday while speaking at the 86th Urhobo Day put together by the Urhobo Progress Union (UPU) at Uvwiamuge, Agbarho, Delta state.     A day-old baby boy was intentionally murdered in cool blood by his mother in Iwhrekpokopo community and his remains dumped with plantain peelings in a dumpsite, Ughelli North Local Government Area of Delta state. The nursing mother, identified as Elohor, a physically challenged, who had had a self-delivery was arrested by the men of the Nigeria Police attached to the 'B' division at Agbarha-Otor but was later granted bail. The people of Oghara-Iyede in Isoko North Local Government Area of Delta state over the weekend disgraced the Commissioner for Housing in Delta State, Arch. Joe .A. Ogeh as they booed and rejected his 'Kolanut wedge' offered to them.
