The councilors representing Burutu Local Government Area Wards 13 and 14, Hon. Joseph Asiaye Alubeze and Hon. Sunday Oruekpeti respectively, have disassociate themselves from the alleged impeachment of Chief Ebikeme Clark by the Legislative Arm of the Council, saying the impeachment lacks merit as it did not pass through due process. The councillors who spoke separately in Warri on Thursday said that the clerk of the house Mr. Choice Weleke was not in the sitting when the suppose vote of no confidence was passed on the council Chairman. According to them, before such an action can be carried out by the legislative arm, the clerk of the house ought to have been present during the plenary and he is the only one that has right to sign such resolution on behalf of the house...

The Save Our Ogoni Project has expressed worried over the way and manner Lamor and Inkas, the two leading firms handling the cleanup and remediation exercise in Bodo community are conducting their business in the community. In a statement by its Coordinator, Mr. Anthony Aalo on Thursday, the group observed that, Lamor and Inkas are clearly conducting their business in a way that does not assure the Bodo people that they will have a clean environment that will ensure the resumption of their major occupations which is fishing and farming in the community. Itsekiri leader and renowned historian, Pa. Johnson Oritsegbubemi Sunday Ayomike, popular known as Pa J O S Ayomike is dead. He died this night around 9:pm at a private hospital on Warri, Delta state. The deceased younger brother, Joe Ayomike, who confirmed the passage in a terse statement on Wednesday night said that the former leader of Itsekiri apex socio-cultural umbrella, Itsekiri Leaders of Thought died at the age of 90. “Pa J O S Ayomike has just passed on peacefully in a Warri private hospital at about 9pm today (Wednesday) 4th October, 2017. Hundreds of women drawn from Effurun and other neighbouring communities in Uvwie Council Area of Delta state have protested alleged land grabbing by the Nigerian Army. The protesters alleged that the army had grabbed land spanning about 185.20 hectares which they now fraudulently sell to civilians in exorbitant rate to the detriment of the communities. Tragedy struck Ujevwu community in Udu Local Government Area of Delta state on Saturday as a local cannon fired at the 11th memorial anniversary of a prominent community leader, late Chief Richard Kenairu Alerebo, reportedly killed a 26-year-old pregnant woman.
