Some elders and leaders of All progressive Congress (APC) in Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State have commended President Muhammadu Buhari, over the appointment of Mr. Oma Djebah, a former Commissioner for Information in Delta as a non career diplomat.
In a press statement issued in Otu-Jeremi, headquarters of Ughelli South Local Government Areas, the elders and leaders of the party in the area, commended President Buhari for his choice of Mr. Oma Djebah as Ambassador nominee.
They described Oma Djebah as a square peg in a square hole, a grassroot politician and a strong member of the APC.
“Oma Djebah’s pedigree, experience and exposure in public service and international diplomatic engagements eminently qualify him for the job of an ambassador”, they said in the statement.
They declared that the nation and all stakeholders would, in no time, be proud of his giant strides as a non-carreer ambassador.
The elders and leaders further assured that Mr. Oma Djebah will tap into his wealth of experience as a former Commissioner for Information and Senior Special Adviser on Foreign Relations to the former Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan of Delta state, to excel in his new position as an ambassador.
It would be recalled that Mr. Oma Djebah, a former Deputy Editor of Thisday newspaper and currently, Publisher of The New Diplomat newspaper online, was nominated by President Muhammadu Buhari along with 40 others as non-career diplomats.
The statement was jointly signed by Pa. P.E.S. Ideh, Elder (Chief) Johnson Boro, Chief F.O. Aguonigho, Sir John Ebireri, Chief Esiso Lawrence (Delta Central APC Youth Leader), Chief Alfred Okoriko and Sir. Rowland Onovivie.
