The Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Dr. Michael Tidi, has described the appointment of Delta Governor, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa to head the seven-man Sub Committee on Post COVID-19 Economic Growth, as a strong affirmation of Okowa’ s dexterity in resource management and utilization amid economic uncertainties.

Tidi made the declaration Saturday May 23 while reacting to Governor Okowa’s appointment by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, posited that the task assigned to the Governor to lead five other governors and the FCT Minister, gives credence to “Dr. Okowa’ s unassuming administrative sagacity, which has earned Delta State the second position of economic prosperity in the country, after Lagos State”.

The seven-man committee, which also has governors of Lagos, Kano, Bauchi, Anambra and Plateau States, is saddled with the responsibility of exploring ways Nigeria can bounce back economically, from the devastating effects of the Coronavirus pandemic.

According to the Warri South Local Government Chairman, the knowledge Dr. Okowa deployed in the creation of enterpreneurs in Delta State through the YAGEP, STEP and other programmes tailored under SMART agenda, would be brought to bear in piloting affairs of the committee for the overall benefit of Nigerians.

The council boss, enjoined Deltans to sustain their support for the Okowa administration, saying the governor has left enviable legacies in all the National assignments given him so far, including conduct of PDP National conventions and presidential primary.
