Senator Douye Diri, the Governor-elect of Bayelsa state and his deputy, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo have been sworn in.

They both took their separate oath of office administered by the state chief judge as governor and deputy governor respectively at Government House Yenagoa this night after they were presented with the Certificate of Return by INEC earlier in the day.
