Only Female Guber Candidate In Delta Boasts She’ll Win Okowa, Ogboru In March Election

Mrs. Helen Olokiti, the only female Governorship candidate in Delta State, on Wednesday boasted that she will win the March 2, election on the platform of Advanced Peoples Democratic Alliance (APDA), promising to take the oil rich state to the next level.

Mrs. Olokiti said she was confident that Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) would declare her winner of the election expressing confidence in the ability of the electoral umpire to conduct and free and fair election.

She expressed confidence that in a free and fair contest, she would win Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of the PDP and Chief Great Ogboru of the APC.

“I am confident that I and my party (APDA) will win the Governorship election coming up in March 2, this year. I will be the first woman to be the Governor of Delta State. It is the turn of a woman to govern the state and you will see the difference as contrary to what our men have been doing”, she boasted.

Mrs. Onokiti, who spoke in an interview with newsmen in Warri, said her administration will focus more on development of agriculture as part of efforts to create employment for the teeming youths as well as boost internally revenue of the state.

She disclosed that she already has a blue print on how to industrialized the state, enhance the health and education sectors as well as provide adequate security for the people of the Delta State.

The Governorship candidate however appealed to INEC to provide adequate security for her and her teeming supporters before, during and after declaring her winner of the election noting that she anticipate resistance from the male politicians who might not want a female to govern the state.
