Four Oil Workers, Businessman Abducted In Delta

Four workers of Sahara Energy, an oil Servicing Company located at Ajoki Community behind Koko, Headquarters of Warri North Local Government Area, and a businessman have been reportedly kidnapped in separate incidents in Delta state. BigPen Online learnt that the workers whose identities remain uncertain as at the time of filing this report were abducted at the Akpakoka/Ajoki water side by gunmen in a speed boat and driven to an unknown destination on Wednesday morning. Reports say the kidnappers of the four workers of Sahara Energy has not open communications lines with anybody but those who abducted Koko based businessman, Daniel Obayendo on Monday, January 14, have demanded a ransom of N 10million. Delta state Government has commenced legal action against EasyQuest Nigeria Limited, a company allegedly linked to the Ologbotsere of Warri Kingdom, Chief Ayiri Emami over the construction of Shoreline Protection Measures (Phase 1) at Aruoton community awarded to the company at a total sum of N1,694,211,750.00 (one billion, six hundred and ninety-four million, two hundred and eleven thousand, seven hundred and fifty naira) but was reportedly abandoned after collecting the sum of N800m (eight hundred million naira).   The Nigerian Gas Processing and Transportation Company, (NGPTC) formerly Nigerian Gas Company (NGC) has commenced work to ascertain the level of damage on the Ugbokodo segment of the Escravos-Lagos Pipeline System. Already, the Management of NGPTC, a subsidiary of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) have engaged an indigenous company, NANPIST Venture to commence clearing of the affected area for proper assessment and evaluation of the damaged caused.   Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) has threatened to drag the Federal Government and the Nigerian Military to Court over the invasion and burning down of over 50 houses at Toru-Ndoro community, Ekeremor Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.
