Comrade Precious Nwadike, Senatorial hopeful for Imo West senatorial district who has been on a consultation visits to Lagos, Abuja and other cities of Nigeria, on Monday said his first priority when elected into the red chamber is to solve the Umuna/Orlu erosion problem. While taking questions from one of the participants at a town hall meeting with Orlu indigenes in Lagos, Nwadike disclosed that his intentions is to work with relevant government agencies to end the Umuna/Orlu erosion menace which has sent majority of the people in the area packing. EFCC Re-opens Probe Into Delta N21.7bn IPP Project

  The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has reopened its investigation into a N21.74 billion Independent Power Plant (IPP) project in Oghara, Delta State, New Telegraph is reporting. The contract for the project was awarded by the Delta State Government to an indigenous firm, Davnotch Nigeria Limited, on June 23, 2009 for the supply and installation of two Rolls Royce Trent Gas Turbine Generators to boost power generation and distribution in the state. It had an initial contract term of 60 per cent down payment and completion period of 24 months. On June 24, 2009, Davnotch accepted the offer and promised to complete the contract within the stipulated time frame. Fresh fire incident has been reported at the Ogbe-Ijoh market in Warri South Local Government Area of Delta state. The fire which broke out Friday night around 11: pm burnt over 100 stalls in the market which has notoriety for annual fire disasters. Sources said that the fire started from an area of the market where smoked fish are being processed. Over 500 stores where smoked fish are stored and processed got destroyed and goods worth million perished in an inferno which occurred early this week, Tuesday. Similar fire outbreak had occurred in the market early this year with the state government being accused of doing nothing to replace the shanties with modern structures.   A Benin-based activist and anti-corruption crusader, Bishop Osadolor Ochei has asked a Federal High Court in Abuja for an order of mandamus compelling the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to commence criminal proceedings against former Edo state governor, Adams Aliu Oshiomhole on alleged corruption. An ex-parte motion marked FHC/ABJ/CS/628/2018 praying the court to order EFCC to put Oshiomole on trial followed the Bishop’s petition to the EFCC, dated October 28, 2016 ‎against Oshiomhole, who was governor of Edo state from November 2008 to November 11, 2016.
