2019 : Okowa May Face Stiff Gang Up

Indications have emerged that Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta state may be facing titans come 2019, BigPen Online can report.

Our source said a recent meeting between former governor, Chief James Ibori and former Speaker, Rt. Hon Victor Ochei hosted by Warri-based business man, Chief Ayiri Emami was a pointer to the plot to unseat Okowa come 2019.

Dependable Government House source told one of our correspondents that the governor was losing sleep over the development, particularly when he learnt of the recent romance between Ochei and Ibori.

Ochei, an ally of Ibori who is said to be warming up to challenge Okowa in 2019, was hosted by flamboyant Warri business magnet, Emami who has been critical of the Okowa’s led administration.

Our source said that immediately Okowa heard of the close door meeting, he reportedly ran to Oghara the next day to meet Ibori ostensibly to know the new political game plans being orchestrated.

Though no one volunteered to disclosed the outcome of the meeting, a source said it was far unconnected to politics of 2019, particularly about who becomes the next governor.

The source said that though Ibori has not show any signs of dumping Okowa, the governor was not taking chances hence he is doing everything to reaffirm his commitment to the Ibori dynasty.

“Governor Okowa is very worried over the way things are now going. It appears he will be facing a gang up because they are trying to sell the idea to Ibori.

A source closed to Ayiri who confirmed the meeting said it was an informal gathering of friends.
